From the shamanistically influenced parts of Tibet one knows the ghost traps, whose magical effect is supposed to ward off evil spirits. So these collages of animal skulls, branches and above all thread nets are hung up on houses or entrances to protect the inhabitants. If you visit old Allgäu houses, in the stables and apartments in many corners consecrated medicinal herb bushes, decorated holy images or even statues and crosses stand out, which are supposed to ward off evil and attract blessings. So it is obvious to design ghost traps in the Allgäu, whose effect is immeasurably strengthened by the Trinity and some of the considerable number of Catholic saints! And the ghost-driving effect is even intensified by small amounts of alcohol!
